NiGHTS Fan Art

I had NiGHTS into Dreams on my old Saturn, however, as a child, I seemed to have trouble figuring out what I was supposed to do in the game, which prevented me from playing it as much as I could have had. It did make me sad because the cover for NiD just looked so whimsical and gorgeous that I knew I was missing out when I never learned how to play it :(

I drew plenty of NiGHTS fanart throughout the years, but the peak of my interest was during 2010-2011, which for those familiar with my work, lines up with the time when I made my NiGHTS OCs and my brain became hijacked by them for the next decade :) You won't find them here though, that's what the Drimare Universe category is for.

I was always aware of NiGHTS, specially during my Sonic phase with all the NiGHTS cameos, it was always on my mind. I was aware of NiGHTS and Reala, but funny enough, Jackle was the character that got me super interested in it. Basically my reaction was "WAIT, THERE'S A THIRD ONE???" and the rest is history.

Also this was 2010, I was a dumb kid and also they/them pronouns and non-binary stuff wasn't really talked about as much as it is today, so my art features NiGHTS using she/her pronouns and a more feminine presentation since that was my headcanon at the time :) These are primarily here for archival purposes!

2014-2020

Although still present in the fandom, at this time, I was no longer making NiGHTS fanart and only drew it very rarely and occasionally :')

2011-2012

After my Nightmaren OC fixation set in, my NiGHTS fanart became rather scarce as I focused more and more on developing my characters.

2009-2010

These years were the peak of my NiGHTS fixation and when I made the most amount of artwork for it. I was very fixated on Jackle especially, and he was the character I drew the most, so most of my artwork fixated on him one way or the other.

Jackle x NiGHTS Ship Art

I think I can regard this ship as my first serious hyperfixation LOL I don't remember what compelled me to start shipping NiGHTS and Jackle together but I just loved the potential dynamic so much, and when the ship art was basically non-existent, I felt even more driven to make a lot of art of them!

Then one faithful day I decided that I needed to draw fankids for them and somehow that decision changed the creative drive of my work for the rest of my life LOL

Super quick disclaimer that I'm aware that shipping is a controversial topic in the NiGHTS fandom. I only ever headcanoned NiGHTS and Reala as twin siblings, but to me, Jackle and the other nightmarens weren't related in any familial sense. idk I was like 13 or 14 when I was drawing these, and I don't want any of them to be interpreted in that gross way ;/ We don't do any of that proshit mentality here.

I just have a lot of sentimental attachment to these pictures, despite how cringy they were, I still remember how much I enjoyed making and sharing them with people :)
