The Star Forger
"Aurelion Sol once graced the vast emptiness of the celestial realm with wonders of his own devising, but was tricked by the Aspects of Targon into revealing the secrets of a sun that he himself created.
His awesome power was channeled into immortal god-warriors to protect the apparently insignificant world of Runeterra—now, desiring a return to his mastery of the cosmos, Aurelion Sol will drag the very stars from the sky, if he must, in order to regain his freedom."
I've been playing League of Legends for a long while. Although I don't have a specific date, the free Riot Girl Tristana skin has been on my account since July 2014, so that gives me a rough estimate of how long it's been.
I've always been rather picky over which characters I've played, and even to this day, despite the continuously growing roster of Champions, I've always kept my selection rather small.
I was on and off of playing League around the time Aurelion Sol was released. My laptop had stopped functioning, so I sadly missed out on his release and all the teasers and stuff that came with it.
And yet, I so clearly recall the first time I saw him. I had returned to playing League after a long time of having no functioning laptop, and I was in an ARAM.
The enemy team had Aurelion Sol and I didn't notice him at first since I was still getting used to all the new champions that had been added since I last played.
What I did notice, however, was his voice. The delivery of that "Stellar", how soft and soothing the way he spoke was. Something about it just really captivated me, and when I realized it came from the new space dragon character, I was hooked.
I've always been a dinosaur and lizard person, and dragons weren't far from that, and it was also a time where I was super into Tumblr Galaxy aesthetics, so Aurelion Sol quickly made his way into becoming one of my favourite character designs in the game. Good timing, I suppose?
Though my fixation did not begin until one or two years later, never has a character won me over as quickly as he did by voice alone.
Still, he is straight up my longest lasting hyperfixation and his grasp on my brain is not to be underestimated. I created this shrine to dump my love and endless ramblings about how much I love him as a character!

Birth of a Fixation
It's hard to try and remember what caused my Aurelion Sol hyperfixation to begin. When I unlocked him, I only played him occasionally, mainly since I was primarily in a Veigar phase at the time, trying my best to reach Mastery 7 on him and others.
I suppose the Aurelion Sol fixation began when I started getting accused of trolling or "hating fun" whenever I decided to play him.
It felt like a bizzarre response, and I had never received those reactions whenever I played any other champions in my roster. (And this is coming from someone who once aspired to be a Teemo OTP and played him religiously!)
Nevertheless, Aurelion Sol being a niche and almost underdog character in this regard, only made me enjoy playing him more.
Especially seeing people's reactions when the champion they thought was bad and crap could still do some serious damage if someone bothered to learn him.
And funny enough, I guess the thing that solidified my love for Asol, was watching MagikarpUsedFly's video on Aurelion Sol Actual Champion Spotlight.
Nonetheless, despite being old and one of my favourite videos on Aurelion Sol, it made so much fun of him that it made me like… feel really sorry for the character??? lol
I kind of decided that I was going start maining Aurelion Sol around late 2017, almost out of spite for the people who made fun of me for liking him.
And then I started drawing him, and I joined a Discord server for Aurelion Sol mains where I began sharing my artwork with other fans, and I kept drawing and drawing and drawing until I eventually realized that The Star Forger had become a fixation, and would stay that way for many years to come...
